Ordinance Review and Update

The planning commission and town board are currently conducting a review and update of the township’s ordinances. The Minnesota Association of Townships recommends that townships periodically review their ordinances to ensure that they remain up-to-date and serve the interests of the community.

The first round of updates was completed in August 2007 with adoption of several amendments that corrected typographical errors, removed ambiguous language, and fixed loopholes and oversights in the ordinance from the last update in 2005. You can view a copy of the amended ordinances here.

The planning commission and town board are currently working on a second round of updates that should be completed this fall. Any proposed ordinance changes will go through a public hearing process for citizen input and comment before they are officially considered by the town board. Watch the township calendar for the date of the public hearing.
